 Camping Upper Wynoochee River

All of these pictures were taken near or at our camp site on Haven Lake in the Olympic National Forest, east of Hoodsport, Washington.  This was our first visit to this specific area in years, so it's new territory for us.  The area shown below can be accessed from the Wynoochie area roads as well.

We are about to begin our epic journey... ...Here we are on Highway 101, with Mickey Mouse leading the way !!! This is the first vista view we saw on our new road. We drove over a bridge over Fir Creek on our way to our campsite.

Another view of Fir Creek.

This dead-end logging road has a great view! There was quite a bit of haze and moisture in the air everywhere we went, despite the sun being out.  We will take more pictures of this site on a clearer day.

This is a cool tree stump, with a view!
We also saw Vance Creek along the way to our camp site. After not much driving around, we found Haven Lake!

Another view of Haven Lake- I love the colors of the lake from a distance. A great view of the log jam.

I love how the logs are piled up here. The water is so clear that I was able to photograph the floor of the lake. Same here! I love the patterns of the leaves and the sun in the shallow water!
Here's J at our camp site next to the lake. Another great view of our beautiful camp site. Lunchtime at Dawn's Hood Diner  !!! It's the ghost of a ram!

(It's actually cigarette smoke- LOL!)

Here's J taking a picture of Dawn! Here's Dawn taking a picture of J! J is next to the large culverts that drain the lake.  The culverts are about six feet tall, for those times in the winter when you need some serious drainage!

Here's J contemplating starting dinner, but first, the most important thing- Bordeaux!!!

On our way home, we spotted this beautiful cluster of berries.  Since I don't know what kind of berry they are, I sure didn't eat any!!!

These mushrooms are cute!

Don't worry- I don't like to eat them!!!

Dawn's Digital Nature Art !!!
