Camping August 31, '11


On the road again!	Self-portrait time!	Hmmm, this gate is locked, blocking our access to above Lake. Cushman.

The underside of the locked gate.	Since our way was blocked, we turned back around and went for a drive through the Olympic National Forest, and ended up driving through the beautiful Brown Creek Campground.	Look, the hobbit camps here!

The hobbit entrance (wink-wink!)	A very mossy tree in the campground!	We continued on to the Harp Creek Falls close to the Skokomish River and saw this interesting rock outcropping ahead.

This is interesting - A bit blurred thanks to the low lighting.	This turned out nicely!	The clear water of Harp Creek!

I like these ferns in the Harp Creek Basin!	Another view of the ferns.	After visiting the Falls, we saw some ferns along the road!

I like foliage on these ferns!	More fall foliage!	The leaves form an interesting pattern.

It's a bit like a rainbow!	After much driving around, we came to a camping area and saw this beer can that was used for target practice!	We decided that the first camp spot was sloping too much, so we continued on to this spot!

The view from near our camp site.	There was quite a bit of cloud cover during our stay. It did clear up a bit on our last day.	Big ole trees in cloudy skies!

This fern is growing all by itself straight out of the rock!	This tree is also growing straight out of the rock!	This bee is asleep!

So much foliage, so little time!	Moss-on-tree!	I wonder if this tree was infested with the beetle that kills the trees.
